What are 'Hearts and Arrows'?
The Ultimate Ideal Cut

ICE HEARTS & ARROWS

Hearts & Arrows is the term used for super ideal cut diamonds that exhibit a complete and precise Hearts & Arrows pattern. Hearts & Arrows diamonds have three distinguishing factors – perfection in polish, symmetry, and proportion.

This effect is attained when all the facets are precisely aligned and the diamonds are cut and polished to perfection. The perfect symmetry of an ICE hearts and arrows diamond makes it the Ultimate Ideal Cut

Laser Inscription

All Ice Hearts and Arrows are laser inscribed on the girdle with the international  certification number for your protection. Don't be fooled by imitations insist on laser inscribed Ice H&A

Our "ICE" logo or a short message may also be inscribed

Ice-Scope

Ice-scope

Ice H&A come as a visual pattern of 8 hearts while looking down through the pavilion and 8 arrows when viewing the stone in the table up position. A special "Ice-Scope" magnifying viewer is used to show this phenomenon.

Only the perfect cut and polished diamond gives the desired result of "H&A" effect.

Mini Ice-Scope

With each Ice Hearts and Arrows purchased you will receive your own personal mini Ice-Scope. Yours to keep.

Use this useful tool to view the H&A effect. Once the diamond is mounted you will only be able to view the arrows as the hearts are viewed from the pavilion.

For any future diamond purchases use the Mini Ice-Scope to verify symmetry and light leakage on loose diamonds.

H&A viewed with GemEx TM brilliance scope

Ice H&A diamonds display exceptional brilliance when tested on a brilliance scope.

To search for available stock go to the Ice searchable database and search for diamonds in the usual way, choose diamonds marked ICE H&A If you don't find one on our database then send us an e-mail and we will place you on our waiting list

The Ice Difference

What truly makes these diamonds so remarkable is the amount of light they produce. A complete 'Hearts & Arrows' pattern has an average light return of 98%. The 8 arrows visible from the crown side are the 8 pavilion main facets, while the 8 hearts visible through the pavilion side are created by reflection of 16 lower girdle facets, in the table of the stone.
One can see why all the facets must be exactly the same shape and size. If the cut of the diamond is even slightly asymmetrical, the result will be a distorted, crooked, uneven or incomplete pattern.
